IFBL-EP.1: “I Am in the Future Business Landscape”

Looking toward the future of business is not about prediction, but about preparing with clarity, awareness, and wisdom.
IFBL-EP.1 was designed as a shared learning space where participants could slow down their decision-making and explore changes in the business landscape in a structured way, rather than searching for one definitive answer.
The workshop invited participants to examine multiple possible futures, or scenarios, and connect those perspectives back to their own business contexts.
One of the key outcomes was the co-creation of four core future scenarios for Thailand, developed through group work, discussion, and reflection throughout the day.

Four Possible Future Scenarios for Thailand’s Business Landscape
None of these scenarios is presented as “right” or “wrong.” Each offers a different lens through which businesses can consider future possibilities.
1. Technology and AI as the Core Infrastructure of Competition
A business landscape increasingly shaped by data, automation, and artificial intelligence.
Opportunities and risks emerge at the same time.
The critical question is no longer simply whether to use AI, but how to integrate technology with human judgment, values, and responsibility.
2. Human and Well-being at the Center
People place greater importance on quality of life, meaning, relationships, and well-being.
Businesses are increasingly expected to care for people, rather than focusing only on short-term results.
Success may therefore be measured not only by profit, but also by the impact a business has on people, communities, and society.
3. Green Economy and Local Resilience
Sustainability, environmental responsibility, and community resilience become central to business design.
The idea of unlimited growth is increasingly questioned, while long-term balance and responsible use of resources become more important.
4. A World of Uncertainty and Fragility
Volatility becomes part of the new normal.
Businesses face risks that are increasingly difficult to predict, making resilience — the ability to recover, adapt, and continue — as important as growth itself.
What IFBL-EP.1 Invites Us to Reflect On
The workshop does not attempt to prescribe which scenario should be chosen.
Instead, it invites participants to ask themselves:
Where is our business most vulnerable?
In which scenarios might new opportunities emerge?
Are we planning based on hope, or on realistic possibilities?
How prepared are we to adapt if the future develops differently from what we expect?
Many participants found that although the future itself remained uncertain, the framework for thinking about the future became much clearer.

IFBL-EP.1 as Part of Paa Namsai’s Learning Community
IFBL-EP.1 did not end on the day of the workshop.
For Paa Namsai, this was not simply a standalone event, but part of a broader effort to cultivate a community that values well-being, learning, and thoughtful engagement with change.
The workshop created a space where business, humanity, and the future could be explored together.
IFBL-EP.1 may not have provided every answer about what lies ahead, but it helped participants move forward with greater direction, awareness, and wisdom.
